FORTRESS mortar

FORTRESS MORTAR™ is an exceptionally high strength mortar engineered to provide tremendous load bearing and bonding strengths when used in conjunction with standard PC based CMUs or CMUs manufactured with CERATECHs RediMAX™ cement. FORTRESS MORTAR™ is a single component powder that is water activated. It provides up to 2 hours of working / handling time and will reach compressive strengths of more than 3000 psi in 24 hours and 6,600 psi in 28 days. FORTRESS MORTAR™ can be used in place of Portland cement mortar and can be mixed in a standard grout / mortar mixer.

Recommended Uses
Masonry construction.

Mixing Instructions
Standard Mixing Procedures (Rotating Blade Grout or Mortar Mixer)

  • Determine volume of FORTRESS MORTAR™ required for project
  • Pre-wet grout mixer with clean water then drain all water from mixer (away from placement area)
  • Use 3 quarts of water per 66 lb. bag of FORTRESS MORTAR
  • Mix for 4 minutes

Application and Finish
  • Working times are influenced by surface temperature of masonry.
  • Self-curing
  • Clean all tools and equipment with water prior to the material reaching final set.
