New Non-Portland, Non-Epoxy Concrete Repair and Rehabilitation Materials
ICRI Concrete Repair Bulletin, March/April 2007

Baltimore. MD-based materials company CERATECH. Inc., officially unveiled PAVEMEND™, a line of revolutionary non-portland, non-epoxy, all-weather, high-performance concrete repair and rehabilitation materials, at World of Concrete 2007.

CERATECH has conducted extensive advanced testing with PAVEMEND™ among a variety of U.S. Military forces worldwide who have successfully used the advanced material technology for numerous strategic purposes, including force protection, aircraft runway, and infrastructure repair applications. In addition to the U.S. Military, PAVEMEND™ has also been used extensively by municipalities, DOTs, aviation, and port authorities.

The PAVEMEND™ line of products is comprised of non-traditional cementitious materials, including very rapid setting, self- and semi-leveling structural repair mortar, structural repair concrete, and new construction concrete. It is specially designed for rapid concrete repair and is engineered to address the constraints posed by traditional construction materials, including extreme weather applications, rapid return to service of critical assets, case of use, shrinkage, resistance to thermal expansion/contraction, and durability.

A single component powder that is water activated, PAVEMEND™ becomes a slurry mixture that, when poured onto the area to be repaired, bonds tenaciously to most construction materials, including steel. In fact, PAVEMEND™ will reach compressive strengths of more than 3000 psi (21 MPa) within 60 minutes of final set; making it the perfect choice for urgent infrastructure repair scenarios where a 1-hour return to service is of paramount importance.

PAVEMEND™, which can be applied in ambient temperature ranges from 0 to 100°F ( 18 to 38 °C), is an ideal repair material for roads and bridges, airport runways, warehouse or manufacturing facility floors, post-tension cable repairs, form and pour projects, and architectural and new construction applications. When correctly applied, PAVEMEND™ products are very effective for the repair of vertical, sloped, and horizontal surfaces, to include spall and crater failures; as an overlay; as an anchor for bolts: and as a grout.

PAVEMEND™, as well as all CERATECH-manufactured products, are non-hazardous and clean up with water. Moreover, they are made from environmentally friendly "green sustainable" materials as they use waste stream products as micro-aggregate and do not contain binders that require high energy consuming manufacturing processes.
