RediMAX-C™
COLD WEATHER BUILDING SOLUTIONS

RediMAX-C

Documents marked as PDF require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view

RediMax-C™ is a versatile, cold weather, high performance structural concrete. RediMax-C™ can be effectively placed in ambient temperatures ranging from 0 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit without the need to follow traditional post hydration curing practices. RediMax-C™ is mixed and placed like traditional Portland concrete, has 145 minutes of working time, depending on ambient temperatures, and can be finished via standard concrete finishing practices. Additionally, RediMax-Cwill achieve compressive strengths of more than 3000 psi within 24 hours following the addition of water.

Recommended Uses
RediMax-C™ is a structural concrete for roads and bridges, aviation runways, industrial infrastructure, boat ramps, building foundations and any other cold weather new construction application where rapid early strength gains are required.

Site Preparation
Construction site should be prepared in accordance with ACI Guidelines for placement of structural concrete.

Mixing Instructions
Standard Mixing Procedures (Rotating Drum Concrete Mixer)
  • Pre-wet cement mixer with clean water then drain all water from mixer (away from placement area)
  • Determine volume of material required for project
  • For each Super Sack unit of RediMax-C™ , add 69 gallons of water into concrete mix (Water temperature should be between 35°F/2°C and 45°F/7°C)
  • Pre-mix 1.1 liters of CERATECH AIR ENTRAINMENT LIQUID to 5 gallons of water ( mix sufficiently to reach a uniform brown color ) and add to concrete mixer
  • Add 3263 lbs of coarse aggregate (No. 57 stone - nominal diameter 1” / 2.5 cm) for each Super Sack unit of RediMax-C™ required
  • Start mixer turning
  • Add required number of Super Sack units of RediMax-C
  • Add 2316 lbs of fine aggregate (C33 sand) for each Super Sack unit of RediMax-C™ required
  • Mix for 25 minutes
  • Pour and clean mixer immediately or prepare for next batch

Application and Finish
  • Working times based on ambient temperature, types of aggregate and total amount of water.
  • Working times are influenced by surface temperature.
  • Minimum profile thickness is 3.00” (7.6 cm). There are no restrictions to the depth of the placement profile.
  • Upon initial set, a broom finish can be applied. Upon final set, the material can be saw-cut, drilled, sanded and/or polished
  • Do not re-temper. The addition of water to the surface of concrete will negatively affect the materials final properties.
  • General loading in 24 hours for wheeled traffic.
  • Self-curing
  • Clean all tools and equipment with water prior to the material reaching final set.

Safety
  • See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
  • This document does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this document to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
  • Dispose of water materials in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • The use of a dust mask, safety goggles and gloves is recommended.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
